Coffee Grind Guide
Choose Your Grind: A Ritual Worth Getting Right
Coffee isn’t just brewed—it’s unlocked. The grind you choose shapes everything: flavor, texture, and the rhythm of your ritual. Whether you’re chasing bold espresso shots or slow-drip serenity, here’s how each grind stacks up.
Whole Bean
Best for: Fresh grinding at home
Texture: Unprocessed roasted beans
Why it matters: Whole beans preserve peak aroma and flavor. Perfect for those who like to customize their brew method—French press, pour-over, espresso, you name it.
Standard Grind
Best for: Drip brewers, auto machines
Texture: Like coarse sand
Flavor profile: Balanced and smooth. This is your everyday go-to for reliable extraction and easy brewing.
Fine Grind
Best for: Pour-over, AeroPress
Texture: Like table salt
Flavor profile: Clean and nuanced. Offers more surface area for extraction, ideal for slower brew methods that highlight subtle notes.
Espresso Grind
Best for: Espresso machines, Moka pots
Texture: Like powdered sugar
Flavor profile: Bold, rich, and concentrated. This ultra-fine grind creates resistance for high-pressure brewing, delivering that signature crema and intensity.
Turkish Grind
Best for: Turkish coffee (ibrik brewing)
Texture: Like flour
Flavor profile: Velvety and immersive. This is the finest grind possible—almost dust-like—used for unfiltered brewing that’s steeped in tradition.
Note: We don’t currently offer Turkish grind, but our whole beans are perfect for grinding ultra-fine at home if you're brewing Turkish-style.
Not Sure Which Grind Is For You?
If you're still deciding, here’s the rule of thumb:
- Want control? Go whole bean.
- Need convenience? Standard or fine.
- Craving intensity? Espresso.
- Chasing tradition? Turkish (DIY grind recommended).
Your ritual, your rebellion. Choose the grind that fits your flow.
